Job Summary:

The GCC Sourcing Associate will be responsible for managing a regional portfolio of suppliers, ensuring a secure supply chain, achieving the best total cost of ownership, and fostering competitive advantage. This role will work closely with regional teams to leverage best practices and drive business impact through effective supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a portfolio of indirect categories within a matrix organization.
  2. Source and onboard suppliers, facilitating the placement of master supply agreements and contracts as appropriate.
  3. Partner with regional teams to leverage regional and industry best practices.
  4. Conduct regular assessments of business partner requirements and match procurement plans to meet business needs.
  5. Create and execute multi-year sourcing strategies to optimize total cost of ownership, assurance of supply, quality, service, and innovation.
  6. Leverage end-to-end sourcing expertise to resolve escalations and execute sourcing strategies.
  7. Lead pricing and negotiation strategies for all category materials.
  8. Drive business impact by educating stakeholders and applying market intelligence to enhance competitive position and mitigate risk.
  9. Update vendor information and create new vendors.
  10. Track orders until delivery and onboard suppliers.
  11. Execute efficient and effective supplier management practices that drive improved supplier performance and correction action as needed.
  12. Represent Lubrizol in a professional, legal, and ethical manner to maintain the integrity of the Lubrizol and Berkshire Hathaway brands.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Business, or other related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the chemical industry recommended.
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate and work well with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deal with cultural differences and regional issues.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement lifecycle and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in above disciplines or MBA.
  • Knowledge of Lubrizol products and their key raw materials.
  • ERP systems experience, including SAP and BOBJ.
  • Training in strategy development and execution.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement lifecycle and negotiation skills.
