Job Overview:

Seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the development and execution of an internal audit strategy, driving business growth through risk-based planning and effective stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive annual internal audit plan in alignment with management inputs, business priorities, and the assessment of the business risk environment.
  • Select and contract vendors for program activities execution, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Execute the Internal Audit Plan as approved by the audit committee, guaranteeing timely execution and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Conduct functional audits (in-house or outsourced) as per the annual plan approved by the audit committee, focusing on efficacy and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and report the status of open Internal Audit observations to stakeholders every month, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Follow up on audits to assess the efficacy and effectiveness of management's remediation actions on noted internal audit reviews.
  • Establish and maintain Internal Audit SOPs, including templates, protocols, and documentation requirements, promoting standardization and consistency.
  • Create a repository of audit programs, checklists, templates, and tools for standardization and consistency in internal audit program execution.
  • Plan, develop, and maintain audit support tools to improve audit process quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management function to identify and assess entity and functional level risks, leveraging expertise and knowledge.
  • Provide input to the risk identification and assessment program for emerging risks during internal audit program execution, fostering proactive risk mitigation.
  • Leverage risk assessment output to develop a based internal audit plan, aligning risk appetite with business objectives.
  • Assess risk mitigation steps and initiatives taken by management for their effectiveness and calibrate internal audit procedures.
  • Utilize outputs from other programs working as 2nd line of defense (Quality, Safety, and Security) for internal audit planning and execution, maximizing synergies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mandatory Education: Chartered Accountant
  • Desirable Education: CIA, CISA, CWA
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in implementing, delivering, and embedding risk management at both strategic and operational levels, demonstrating leadership and expertise.
  • Proven experience undertaking audits across a wide and diverse area of the organization, showcasing versatility and adaptability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to interface and influence all levels of management, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
