Structural Steel Detailer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Detailer/Modeler/Checker to join our team. As a key member of our detailing group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality 3D models, shop drawings, and GA drawings using Tekla Structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed Tekla 3D models and precision shop/delivery drawings.
  • Prepare accurate anchor bolt plans, GA drawings, and CNC outputs.
  • Thoroughly check and review Tekla models, shop drawings, GA drawings, and erection drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant industry standards (AIC, IS, BS, etc.).
  • Verify dimensions, member sizes, bolt locations, weld symbols, and bill of materials.
  • Collaborate with detailers and project leads to correct errors or discrepancies.
  • Flag constructibility issues and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal QC standards and checklists.
  • Support the training of junior team members on quality and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in steel detailing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Checker.
  • Expert in Tekla Structures software.
  • Strong attention to detail and deep understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Familiarity with PEMB systems and connection types is an asset.
