About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to lead the implementation and management of our optical transport networks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work on complex network projects and make a significant contribution to our organization's success.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Optical Transport: Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of DWDM and SDH/SONET networks.
  • NOC Process Flow: Develop and implement efficient NOC process flow to ensure 24*7 support.
  • Hands-on Experience: Provide technical expertise in Optical OEM's (Ciena, Nokia, Cambium, Aviat) and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Pathloss 5.1, MapInfo, Global mapper, QGIS, Mini-Link Planner.
  • Understanding: Detailed understanding of RSL, Fade Margin, Availability, Interference etc. and capacity requirements.
  • Network Protocols: In-depth knowledge of relevant network protocols (e.g., Ethernet, MPLS).
  • Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • Equipment Management: Manage and maintain optical transport equipment efficiently.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with other teams.
  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve complex network issues.


What You Will Do:


  • Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Identify and resolve technical problems related to microwave and optical transport equipment and networks.
  • Support and Escalation: Provide initial support to users experiencing issues, escalating more complex problems to L2/L3 support teams.
  • Ticketing System Management: Manage and update ticketing systems to document issues, solutions, and updates.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with users and other support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and alert on potential issues, escalating to higher-level support if necessary.
  • Basic Installation and Configuration: May assist with basic installation and configuration of microwave and optical equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
