Job Title: Data Systems Architect

Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database infrastructure. This includes working closely with application teams to ship solutions that integrate seamlessly with our database systems.

  • Reliability:

Ensure high uptime and minimal downtime for our databases.

Performance:

Optimize database queries and indexing to improve performance and reduce latency.

Scalability:

Design and implement scalable database architectures to support growing workloads.

In addition to these responsibilities, the candidate will also be expected to analyze solutions and implement best practices for supported datastores (primarily MySQL and PostgreSQL). This includes developing and enforcing best practices for database security, backup, and recovery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a strong understanding of database design and architecture. They should also have experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and knowledge of load balancing solutions such as ProxySQL.

  • Experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases in large environments (4-8 years minimum)
  • Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
  • Knowledge of load balancing solutions (ProxySQL)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
