Job Title: Senior Mortgage Underwriter

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior mortgage underwriter to spearhead our loan analysis process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mortgage underwriting, with the ability to analyze complex loan transactions and make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite non-QM loans, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction levels by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and individual quality benchmarks.
  • Achieve individual production goals and turn times, while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Analyze complex asset statements, financial statements, and personal/business income tax returns to render informed decisions.
  • Evaluate appraisal reports and collateral offered in loan applications, determining acceptability and loan-to-value ratios.
  • Review title opinions and ensure decisioning on all loan applications is compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively communicate reasons for approval/denial of loans and document all decisioning processes.
Requirements:
  • Graduation degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English language.
  • Prior supervisory skills are highly desirable.
