Electrical Engineer Design Lead

Our organization seeks a talented and experienced Electrical Engineer Design Lead to develop innovative solutions for power substation projects.

The successful candidate will utilize their knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and industry standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest level of quality and safety.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with a team of engineers and designers, leading day-to-day activities, setting goals, and expectations, and assisting in annual performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and oversee complex substation and EPC project plans, including scope, WBS, and execution strategy.
  • Manage substation project execution, including project scope, schedule, budget, and project resources.
  • Effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client.
  • Prepare and review preliminary designs.
  • Prepare proposals, including budgetary estimates.
  • Lead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience.
  • Professional engineering license in any state and the ability to acquire further licensure in other states.
  • Solid comprehension and application of design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
