Device Development Engineer

The Fire OS team at ADCI - Tamil Nadu is seeking a skilled Device Lab Engineer to spearhead the growth of the lab's current capabilities and strategic planning. This role involves an intense focus on quality improvement, data generation, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will maintain all aspects of the Fire OS device labs, including equipment resources, hardware, and software. They will update lab infrastructure, equipment, and software configurations, ensuring the availability of test equipment and parts. Strong device/system troubleshooting skills, customer use cases understanding, and collaboration with development teams, test automation engineers, and peer QA teams are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will organize and maintain stock of critical test equipment, third party devices, prototype devices for troubleshooting and debug, and actively participate in team meetings, project planning, prioritization discussions, and solicit feedback. Effective communication with stakeholders, documentation, and project management skills are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining all aspects of labs, equipment resources, including hardware and software, update all lab infrastructure, equipment, and software configurations.
- Ensure availability of test equipment and parts.
- Organize and maintain stock of critical test equipment, third party devices, prototype devices for troubleshooting and debug.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, understand their requirements, and implement solutions like enable automation and reduce the manual efforts for testing.
- Actively participate in team meetings, project planning, prioritization discussions, solicit and process feedback for solutions proposed.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, tend to over-communicate and over-document.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge on Devices/Agile frameworks for testing and familiarity with Defect management tools is a plus.
