Pastry ArtisanKey Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for preparing a variety of pastry and dessert items according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.
- The Pastry Cook will be assigned a station in the pastry galley, where they will work closely with the Pastry Chef Tournant to develop their skills and knowledge.
- They will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness in their work area and equipment.
- The assigned shift may vary based on operational needs, and the team member will be expected to adapt to changing circumstances.
- They will also be responsible for setting up pastry displays on buffets as needed and assisting with the transportation of food items from storage areas to the galley when assigned.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment is crucial, and all team members are expected to adhere to strict guidelines regarding cleanliness and sanitization.
- Awareness of shipboard standard operating procedures is essential for success in this role.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, courses, and other work-related activities as required by management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated personnel.
Qualifications and Education:
- Requires at least 2+ years' experience in an upscale culinary environment, preferably on a cruise ship.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and sanitation requirements is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required for consideration.
