Business Analyst Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze requirements to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of hedge fund accounting workflows, including net asset value calculation, trade capture, cash/position reconciliations, performance fees, and investor allocations.
  • Collaborate with Fund Accounting teams to document functional and technical specifications for system enhancements.
  • Process & System Improvements:
  • Work closely with technology teams to enhance fund accounting platforms.
  • Identify process gaps, streamline reconciliations, automate manual processes, and improve data integrity.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of hedge fund accounting concepts: net asset value, accruals, profit and loss attribution, fee structures, side pockets, share classes.
  • Experience with fund administration systems (Geneva, Investran, Advent, or equivalent).
  • Business analysis skills: requirement gathering, process modeling, user acceptance testing, documentation.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments: equities, fixed income, derivatives (swaps, options, futures, FX).
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and reporting tools for data analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
