At Amica Financial Technology, we're on a mission to empower individuals to take control of their finances. Our team is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our efforts in developing cutting-edge financial products.

About the Role:

We're seeking a seasoned technical leader who can drive strategy and vision across our engineering teams. As an Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for creating clear career paths for your team members, attracting and retaining top talent, and driving agility in execution. You'll work closely with diverse stakeholders across product, technology, and business teams to deliver scalable and quality technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, develop, and provide hands-on leadership for top-notch engineers.
  • Create clear career paths for team members to help them grow with regular and deep mentoring.
  • Drive strategy and vision across teams in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Work closely with diverse stakeholders across product, tech, and business teams; enable them by providing scalable and quality technology solutions.
  • Foster a strong team culture of responsiveness through leading by example.
  • Own decision-making around prioritization for better predictability.

Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of experience with at least the last 1-2 years in the role of Engineering Manager/Senior Engineer.
  • Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available environment.
  • Advanced working experience in a public cloud such as AWS, Kubernetes ecosystem, datastores such as Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, and messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, SQS.
  • Entrepreneurial mentality, hunger, and passion to build quality products along with good engineering practices.
  • Excellent engineering leadership ability, including recruiting, inspiring, and retaining talent.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability of judgment, cross-collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
