STEM Faculty Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced STEM faculty member to join our team. As a STEM faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring teachers in STEM subjects using progressive pedagogical and adult learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality workshops and courses for teachers in STEM fields such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
  • Develop capacity building program plans in STEM and provide inputs for the preparation of the academic calendar.
  • Coordinate with other subject teams for planning and executing the STEM programs.
  • Analyse feedback on training programs and incorporate it in subsequent trainings.
  • Provide direction for the STEM program in alignment with current educational policies and guidelines.

Content Development:

  • Develop detailed program frameworks, teaching plans, and workshop modules for effective implementation.
  • Develop program materials for short-term and intensive courses.
  • Strengthen the Resource Centre and develop subject-specific resource material.
  • Regularly update resources based on action research or primary/secondary research.

Research and Development:

  • Develop research-based specialized content and instructions to achieve workshop goals and objectives.
  • Conduct training need assessments, baseline and end-line assessments for checking program effectiveness.
  • Conceptualise, design and conduct research/s on regular basis.
  • Explore latest methodologies, resources and approaches in education and expertise area.

School Visits and Direct Intervention in Schools:

  • Regularly observe classroom sessions at various schools to understand program impact.
  • Plan and provide on-site support to selected teachers in schools.
  • Intensive engagement with cohort of teachers for understanding factors required for effective change in teaching practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document and report progress on allocated tasks.
  • Prepare and submit training reports, classroom observation reports and other reports.

Other Activities:

  • Collaborate with teachers, team members and other professionals to perform assigned tasks effectively.
  • Contribute to development and publication of Annual Report, Newsletter and other publications.
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in events organized by our team.
  • Participate in staff development activities and workshops relevant to subject team.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the reporting manager.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in capacity-building programs in Teacher Education.
  • M.Sc. (Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry), B.Ed or an equivalent degree.
