Production Network Engineer

The role of a Production Network Engineer involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure. This includes ensuring the continuous and secure flow of data between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems.

The candidate will focus on implementing advanced wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi 6 and private 5G to support robust connectivity, automation, and real-time data monitoring.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and deploying network infrastructure to meet production needs.
  2. Collaborating with production and IT teams to align network infrastructure with operational requirements.
  3. Installing and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points for optimal performance and security.
  4. Monitoring and troubleshooting network performance to identify potential bottlenecks and minimize downtime.
  5. Planning and executing network upgrades, expansions, and modernization initiatives that include security features and future-ready wireless infrastructure solutions.
  6. Ensuring network scalability to support future production needs and business growth.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  1. Proficient in designing and managing large-scale production network deployment.
  2. Strong knowledge of network security practices and protocols.
  3. Experience in implementing OT/IT network integration and proficient in managing both wired and wireless network infrastructure.
  4. Expertise in troubleshooting network issues and implementing solutions in a time-sensitive production environment.
  5. Ability to manage vendor relationships and drive continuous improvements in network performance.
