Senior Mainframe Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing COBOL applications that meet business requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe development, with experience in programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and enhance COBOL applications to meet business requirements
  • Write, test and debug COBOL code for high-performance batch and online processing
  • Modify and update existing COBOL applications to improve efficiency or add new features
  • Ensure database integrity and handle SQL optimization for large-scale banking transactions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features incrementally and meet sprint goals

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in mainframe development
  • Strong background in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
