Job Title: Database Developer

About the Role:

Expertise in designing, developing and maintaining complex relational databases using SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL is required. The successful candidate will have a strong command of SQL, experience with ETL processes, and a deep understanding of data modelling and database performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: We are looking for an individual who can design, develop, and maintain complex relational databases using a range of platforms.
  • SQL Query Optimization: Optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers are crucial for efficient database management.
  • ETL Pipelines: Developing and maintaining ETL pipelines for data integration and transformation is essential for business intelligence and reporting.
  • Data Modelling: Designing and implementing normalized and denormalized data models for transactional and analytical purposes is key to our success.
  • Database Security and Maintenance: Monitoring, maintaining, and improving database security, integrity, and availability is vital to our operations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in database development and management is necessary.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SQL and major RDBMS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) is required.
  • ETL Tools: Experience with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory, Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake is desirable.
  • Data Modelling Concepts: Knowledge of data modelling concepts (star schema, snowflake, normalization) is essential.
  • Performance Tuning: Understanding of performance tuning and query optimization is crucial for efficient database management.
  • Version Control Systems: Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
  • Cloud-Based Databases: Experience with cloud-based databases like Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL is preferred.
