GIS Developer Role Overview">

This GIS Developer position involves developing and maintaining web-based geospatial applications, including designing, implementing, and deploying complex GIS solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in GIS development, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in this field.

They should have expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise administration and development, as well as proficiency in the ArcGIS JavaScript API.

Additionally, they should be familiar with server-side development using Golang and Python, and have experience with GeoServer for web mapping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Development
  • Design and develop interactive web-based GIS applications using the ArcGIS JavaScript API to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
  • Develop and implement custom GIS functionalities and workflows to meet specific project requirements.
  • Integrate various geospatial data sources and services into web applications.
  • Development and Data Management
  • Develop and maintain server-side components using Golang and Python to support GIS web applications.
  • Configure and manage ArcGIS Enterprise environments, including server administration, data management, and security.
  • Implement and manage GeoServer for serving geospatial data.
  • Design and implement efficient data storage and retrieval strategies for geospatial data.
  • Deployment and DevOps
  • Deploy and manage GIS applications and services on Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
  • Develop and deploy Azure Functions for serverless GIS processing.
  • Utilize Docker for containerization and deployment of GIS components.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GIS analysts, data scientists, and project managers, to deliver high-quality GIS solutions.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and design discussions.
  • Document technical specifications, code, and deployment procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users.
  • Solving and Innovation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to GIS applications and infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GIS technologies and trends.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve GIS workflows and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS web application development.
  • Expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise administration and development.
  • Strong proficiency in ArcGIS JavaScript API development.
  • Proven experience in server-side development using Golang and Python.
  • Experience with GeoServer for web mapping.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and spatial databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform, including Azure Functions and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Strong understanding of web development principles and technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of geospatial data formats and standards (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefile, WMS, WFS).
