About This Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Database Architect II to join our Enterprise Architecture team within the Chief Technology Office. As a key enabler of our technology strategy, this role will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our payment processing systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing cutting-edge database architectures using latest computing techniques. They will be responsible for architecting innovative solutions that drive proof of concepts, leveraging their expertise in real-time, high-availability, and highly scalable application development.

This individual will partner with Senior Data Engineers and Architects to create platform-level data models and database designs, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure. Their deep knowledge of DBMS products, ecosystem, and technical standards will enable them to make informed decisions that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop enterprise-level database architectures that meet business requirements and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate in reviews of own work and colleagues' work, applying industry-recognized methods, processes, and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, incorporating best practices into our architecture and design.
Requirements
  • Up to 4 years of software development experience in a professional environment, preferably in a similar role or with comparable experience.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and rapid application development principles.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple database management systems (e.g., IMS, DB2 zOS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Netezza).
  • Knowledge of big data technology and NoSQL design and development, as well as cloud-native database technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
