As a skilled and hands-on Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will lead the design and development of embedded hardware and firmware systems for medical devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop low-level software using 32-bit microcontrollers (STM32, NXP, TI) and application processors (ARM Cortex-A, i.MX, etc.).
  • Drive the complete product lifecycle from concept to long-term maintenance.
  • Collaborate with teams to create robust system architectures.
  • Develop firmware in C and C++ for real-time systems.
  • Define board-level hardware architecture, including power and communication subsystems.
  • Perform system bring-up and integration of device drivers and middleware.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and cybersecurity guidance.
  • Lead risk-management activities, including hazard analysis and verification/validation planning.
  • Evaluate and recommend embedded platforms and communication protocols.
  • Conduct code reviews, establish best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Produce high-quality documentation: system architecture specifications, design rationales, and test protocols.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
  • Proficient in C and C++ for real-time systems.
  • Deep expertise in embedded Linux development.
  • Strong experience with RTOS and bare-metal firmware.
  • Proven background in technical consulting or client-facing roles.
  • Solid understanding of ARM Cortex-M/A architectures and peripheral interfaces.
  • Skilled in using debugging and diagnostic tools.
  • Familiar with relevant standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with wireless protocols and embedded cybersecurity practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach.
