Your Day at NTT DATA:
The Configuration Management Strategist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation of our organization's configuration management policy and standards in medium-complex environments. This seasoned subject matter expert collaborates closely with internal teams to define and control the components of services and infrastructure, maintaining accurate configuration records.
This role demands a firm understanding of business practices, as well as expertise in analyzing processes and recommending improvements. The Configuration Management Strategist conducts presentations to educate and train users on the configuration process, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offers detailed support related to the configuration management process.
- Contributes to strategic projects governing configuration management processes.
- Evaluates existing configuration management systems, designing, implementing, and managing new or improved systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Presents to educate and trains users on the use of the configuration process.
- Manages stakeholder relationships through proactive engagement with clients.
- Collaborates with internal clients to extract and compile monthly reports as defined and agreed.
- Brings subject matter expertise in evaluating proprietary configuration management tools, recommending those that best meet our budget, resource, timescale, and technical requirements.
- Ensures compliance with established procedures by contributing to both internal and external audits.
- Performs other related tasks as required.
Knowledge and Attributes:

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology, or a related field.
- ITIL certification preferred.
- Intermediate Certificate in Release Control and Validation preferred.
Required Experience:
- Seasoned experience in service configuration management roles within Information Technology Services environments.
- Demonstrable experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in analyzing processes and recommending improvements.
- Concentration and firm understanding of business practices.
