Our Mission

The Product Security Applications team at Silicon Labs is crucial for customer success, helping them design secure systems using our wireless SoC and MCU products. As an Embedded Systems Security Specialist, you will be the product expert, providing support, training, and design collateral to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the sales team and field application engineers to answer technical questions and assist with debugging issues.
  • Participate in our Product Security Incident Response process, assisting in the intake of new findings, triage, assembling the case team, and communicating vulnerabilities to stakeholders.
  • Write and maintain security collateral documentation, including Security Advisories, Application Notes, User's Guides, Datasheets, Reference Manuals, and security-related code examples.
  • Handle high-pressure security vulnerabilities with precision and demonstrate resilience when addressing critical security issues.
  • Plan, execute, and lead large-scale projects across functions by taking charge of strategic initiatives, ensuring seamless execution, and alignment across teams.
  • Drive security app teams' technical requirements by serving as the security advocate and collaborating with diverse teams to achieve alignment and consensus on key decisions.
  • Autor and deliver product and feature training, such as Secure Boot, Secure Debug, Secure Key Storage, Secure Identities, and Secure firmware updates to customers, internal stakeholders, and field personnel.
  • Work with key customers to assess their security requirements and match those to our hardware and software features and capabilities.
  • Participate in external industry groups representing protocols and ecosystems to participate in their product security related initiatives.
  • Work with internal teams to improve security ease of use throughout the full product development and deployment lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to work as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment with a quickly evolving market space.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and methodologies.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks within the same day.
  • Knowledge of basic cryptography, symmetric key, public key, PKI, certificates, and certificate chains, cipher, and hash algorithms are required.
  • Strong embedded C programming skills are required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in security domains such as secure boot, secure debug, TrustZone, secure key storage, Public Key Infrastructure, etc.
  • Understanding of handling security incidents, including authoring security notifications and advisories is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of wireless technologies and protocols (Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Fluency in English.
  • Great attention to detail, including professional written correspondence and documentation with minimal grammatical and spelling errors.
  • Ability to swiftly learn new technologies to build and grow skills across MCU and Wireless technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug software, electronic systems, circuits, and devices.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
