Job Summary:

Oversee end-to-end innovation of beauty devices and accessories. This includes defining problem statements, user requirements, and success metrics, aligning with brand, supply chain, and finance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop product roadmaps and PRDs, incorporating user requirements and success metrics
  • Drive new product development (NPD) and design for manufacturability (DFM)/design for excellence (DFX), including concept to EVT/DVT/PVT and tooling management
  • Evaluate technology decisions, encompassing motor/heat/airflow modules, power electronics, and safety features
  • Identify and qualify vendors and suppliers, including OEM/ODM/component suppliers and negotiate MOQs and should-cost models
  • Establish quality and compliance protocols, covering BIS/CRS, IEC 60335 series, RoHS/REACH, EPR (e-waste), WPC (RF), and UN38.3/IEC 62133 (if batteries)
  • Collaborate with industrial designers to ensure ergonomics, acoustic comfort, thermals, and serviceability, as well as packaging fit/spec
  • Coordinate pilot builds, line setup, SOPs, spares/after-sales, user manuals, and risk registers for go-to-market readiness
  • Monitor field performance, NPS/reviews, failure modes, and drive rapid revs and cost/quality improvements
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years of experience in hardware NPD for small appliances/consumer electronics/beauty devices
  • Proven DFM/DFX, basic EE/ME literacy (PCBA, plastics, metals, silicone), tooling, and reliability testing
  • Strong vendor management in India/China/Korea, hands-on with RFQs, BOMs, PPAP/FAT
  • Familiarity with Indian and global compliance pathways for consumer devices
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks/Creo), basic FEA/CFD interpretation, Jira/PLM, Excel for should-costs
  • Ability to run parallel tracks and meet deadlines
