Academic Economist

We are seeking a highly qualified academic professional to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor in Economics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service activities at the university.

Required Qualifications:

• A Master's degree with 55% marks in Economics or a related field from a recognized university;
• Cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or a similar test accredited by the UGC;
• A Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET;
• At least two SCI publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals;

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ph.D. preferred with entry-level experience is desirable but not essential;
• The candidate has presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency;
• Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, consultancy projects, and a patent filed.

Terms of Appointment:

As per UGC guidelines; however, the actual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Service Requirements:

The selected candidate will be required to teach courses in Economics, conduct research, and participate in university service activities. They will also be expected to maintain a high level of scholarship and contribute to the growth of the department.
