Senior Lead Data Solutions Architect

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Data squad, you will be responsible for developing leading property and market data insights to power Real Commercial products.

As a Senior Lead Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe, leading the design, development, and optimization of features to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.

The role has key strategic importance and visibility within the business. You will focus on delivering thought leadership in advertising technologies, designing innovative solutions, and helping teams leverage this to produce world-class advertising products.

• Leading or significantly contributing to initiatives with strategic focus and value
• Solving deep, complex technical problems in ways that enable other team members to learn and extend
• Supporting the Engineering Manager/Tech Lead in setting the technical direction
• Providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team
• Supporting and driving continuous improvement of our production systems and being an advocate for the overall health of our systems
• Working with stakeholders to design high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our users, including vendor platforms
• Writing, testing, and documenting code according to REA Engineering standards and practices

• Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience with data modeling
• Experience with data pipelines
• Experience with data consumption
• Experience with data analysis and documentation
• Experience with data warehousing
• Advanced skills in designing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users
• Advanced skills in developing long-term system architecture strategies
• Experience with modern software development techniques (e.g., functional programming, microservice architecture, test-driven development, and CI/CD)
• Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders
• Able to understand business, customer, and consumer needs to provide appropriate data solutions
• Able to mentor other engineers in a collaborative agile team environment
• Passionate about data and the latest data technologies
• Good awareness of TDD, CI/CD approaches, and tools

• Experience with Big Query/PostgreSQL/MSSQL, Python libraries (Pandas, Requests, JSON), Docker, Kafka, Linux shell scripting, Git/GitHub, AWS (S3, Lambda, IaC), Airflow, Interacting with REST APIs
