Database Professional

We are seeking a skilled Database Professional to collaborate with senior developers in designing, testing, planning, protecting, and implementing databases.

Job Overview

This role is instrumental in driving our company's success by developing innovative technology and services that simplify workflows, form the foundation of our platform, and enable novice users to navigate complex ecosystems.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to database performance optimization by managing locking, process blocking, and tuning. Additionally, you will design and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architectures, manage backup and restoration processes, and develop monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards to provide insight into database performance and operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy new database objects and changes to existing database objects, including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
  • Design and develop complex relational database reports using SSRS.
  • Manage infrastructure to prevent potential issues and mitigate damage from future incidents.
  • Proactively handle support tickets when necessary and provide assistance to peers.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to ensure seamless integration of database operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture and MSSQL.
  • Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, and support tooling.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of optimizing MSSQL, supporting HA/DR, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to choose appropriate tasks based on current workload.
  • Understanding and implementation of best practices aligned with team standards.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with manager and peers.
  • Participation in code reviews and constructive criticism.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
