Occupational Therapist Role Overview

The Occupational Therapist (Children) provides comprehensive occupational therapy services to children with a variety of developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges.

This role assesses, plans, and implements individualized treatment programs to promote independence, improve functional skills, and enhance the quality of life for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities.
  • Utilize standardized assessments, clinical observations, and parent/caregiver interviews to gather relevant information.
  • Interpret assessment results to identify areas of need and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and child/family goals.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy interventions, including therapeutic activities, sensory integration techniques, and adaptive equipment training.
  • Modify treatment plans as needed based on child progress and changing needs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and educators.
  • Provide consultation and education to other professionals as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in India.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges.
  • Knowledge of pediatric assessment tools and treatment techniques.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor.
