Job Description

The role of a Lighting Designer encompasses the creation of lighting layouts in various software tools, including AutoCAD and Dialux. The ideal candidate will possess functional competencies in these software applications as well as a deep understanding of lighting technicalities and terminologies.

Key responsibilities include developing lighting concept presentations, creating detailed drawings on CAD or sketches from plans, elevations, sections, and details, and coordinating application design with clients and third parties. The Lighting Designer will also calculate luminous output and intensity of the lighting system, prepare layout plans, work drawings, and documentation of the lighting applications.

In addition, the Lighting Designer will refine 3D renderings to showcase simulated lighting scenes that align with the design intent, research new lighting solutions, and utilize Dialux Evo & Photoshop for lighting simulations in presentations, reports, and validation of proposed designs.

To excel in this position, the successful candidate must maintain strong relationships with architects, deliver high-quality designs, adhere to a design philosophy, meet deadlines, exhibit exceptional design thinking skills, communicate effectively through storytelling around the Lighting Design, and collaborate with a cross-functional team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key competencies for this role include project management, independence, communication, creative thinking, and being a team player. Essential qualifications include a completed university education in lighting design or architecture, a minimum of three years of professional experience in lighting design and/or architecture, and proficiency in Adobe CC, AutoCAD, Dialux, and MS Office.
