Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional to lead our research and policy engagement in the Just Transition Programme.

As the Programme Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing research initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, and leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead research initiatives aligned with programme goals

• Engage with government departments, industry leaders, and civil society organizations to build partnerships and promote programme outcomes

• Manage a team of 10+ professionals engaged in research and government collaboration on Just Transition initiatives

• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to advance programme objectives

• Represent iFOREST at high-level meetings and events, presenting institutional perspectives and insights

• Design and manage outreach strategies to effectively communicate research findings

• Foster constructive policy-research partnerships with government, industry, and other stakeholders

• Organize roundtables, convenings, and report launches with key stakeholders

• Ensure all projects meet objectives, timelines, and budgets while aligning with the organization's mission

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

• Master's degree (minimum) in a relevant field such as engineering, management, economics, or public policy

• Minimum 10 years of extensive experience in research, strategy consulting, or advisory roles focused on energy transition, climate change, and environmental issues

• Strong research aptitude with a proven track record

• Excellent communication skills, and extrovert personality who can engage with various stakeholders

• Maturity to take up a leadership role to build the programme's profile in the state and strengthen the organization's engagement on various platforms

• Ability to undertake and guide impactful research and technical analysis

• Knowledge of just energy transition, industrial decarbonization, fossil fuel industries, and related issues is a plus

• Passion for working in civil society and driving positive societal change

Benefits:

• Competitive salary range: INR 22.5 to 27.5 lacs per annum

• Full-time position with an initial contract offered for three years
