Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Development:
    • Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories to ensure they meet quality standards.
    • Coordinate with Production Manager to develop samples including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
    • Review and approve samples, focusing on meeting design specifications and quality standards.
  • Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop yearly and monthly production plans with realistic time lines based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times.
    • Plan and allocate resources, including materials and labor, to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
    • Monitor production progress and proactively address any issues or delays to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Identify and select reliable suppliers and manufacturers that meet quality standards.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors, ensuring consistency in quality and timely delivery of fabric and trims.
    • Establish open communication with vendors to resolve any issues promptly.
  • Costing and Budgeting:
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead, to inform business decisions.
    • Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure production costs stay within budget and identify areas for cost savings.
    • Collaborate with the finance department to negotiate pricing, terms, and discounts, ensuring profitability in the merchandising process.
  • Quality Control:
    • Establish robust quality standards and guidelines for production, ensuring consistency in quality.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks at various stages of production to identify and address any issues promptly.
    • Work closely with the production team to implement corrective actions and improve overall quality.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to avoid production delays.
    • Implement just-in-time inventory replenishment to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs.
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and monitor stock turnover rates to optimize inventory management.
  • Production Coordination:
    • Coordinate effectively with various production departments, including production, logistics, and quality assurance.
    • Ensure seamless communication and workflow between teams to achieve production goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of production activities, including orders, deliveries, and inspections.
    • Prepare regular reports on production status, costs, and quality to inform business decisions.
