Storyteller for Impact

We're seeking a skilled and creative individual to join our team as a Communications Intern. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to engage directly with beneficiaries, document experiences, and turn them into compelling narratives across formats.

About the Role:

The Communications Intern will be responsible for conducting interviews and conversations with beneficiaries and stakeholders to capture authentic stories. They will also document these stories in clear, concise, and engaging formats (articles, short write-ups, social media captions, case studies, etc.). Additionally, they will support the creation of internal and external communication material and assist in building and maintaining an archive of stories, photographs, and other content assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth interviews with beneficiaries and stakeholders to gather their stories.
  • Document these stories in various formats, including articles, social media posts, and case studies.
  • Support the development of internal and external communication materials.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to generate fresh ideas for content.
  • Assist in designing visual content using tools like Adobe Creative Suite.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Liberal Arts, Media Studies, Public Relations, or related fields.
  • Candidates from Design, Fine Arts, or related disciplines with strong writing skills are also encouraged to apply.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interviewing and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to write across formats: from short social media copy to long-form articles.
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple stories and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.) is a significant plus.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
