Data Engineer Role

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to fill a key position. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of building scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt.

  • Design and implement ELT pipelines using dbt on Snowflake, adhering to industry-accepted best practices.
  • Develop ingestion pipelines from various sources into Snowflake.
  • Implement data modeling and transformation logic to support a layered architecture.
  • Utilize orchestration tools to schedule and monitor data workflows.
  • Apply dbt best practices: modular SQL development, testing, documentation, and version control.
  • Optimize performance in dbt/Snowflake through clustering, query profiling, materialization, partitioning, and efficient SQL design.
  • Contribute to the growth of an internal knowledge base of dbt macros, conventions, and testing frameworks.

The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of data engineering principles, including ELT patterns and data modeling. They will also be proficient in Git, CI/CD, and deployment workflows in a team environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering roles, with 2+ years of hands-on experience in Snowflake and dbt.
  • Experience developing and deploying dbt models in a production setting.
  • Expert-level SQL and a strong understanding of ELT principles.
