Financial Planning Analyst

This role involves driving business growth through strategic financial planning and analysis. Our team delivers accurate and timely financial reports to inform senior management's decision-making.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • We conduct return on capital employed (ROCE) analysis to evaluate the profitability of products and segments.
  • This includes analyzing sales profitability by channel, region, state, supply order form (SOF), and customer (OE & Exports) as well as profitability by product group and SKU level.
  • We provide Gross Sales Profit (GSP) data for marketing – exports sales and support government schemes documentation on domestic value addition on original equipment supplies.
  • Our team develops the annual sales plan:
  • Sales value and tonnage forecasting at SKU-wise, category-wise, and segment-wise levels.
  • Comparison against previous budget and current year estimates

Day-to-Day Activities

  • We prepare daily product costing (cost sheets) for marketing requirements.
  • Actual monthly gross margin statements are developed and maintained:
  • Product-wise, category-wise, segment-wise, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) – customer-wise / product category-wise.
  • Exports – country-wise / customer-wise
  • Monthly gross margin projections are prepared at SKU-wise and segment-wise levels.

Costing & Margin Analysis

  • We conduct Bill of Material (BOM) and gross margin analysis, including nil margin vs nil margin comparison and OE product cost & GM analysis.
  • A year-on-year comparative analysis is also performed.

Inventory & Revenue Reporting

  • FG holding days reports are prepared aligned with forward sales plans.
  • Norms vs actuals are calculated and analyzed at SKU-wise, category-wise, and segment-wise levels.
  • Revenue reports are delivered accurately and on time for senior management review.

Key Qualifications

  • Masters degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business required.
  • Professional certifications like MBA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing finance or financial planning & analysis necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and database management systems essential.

Desired Skills

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and advanced financial analysis techniques desired.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to interpret changing sales trends and influence decision-making required.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP and financial planning software beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills necessary.
