Estimation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Estimation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for machined and fabricated components, analyzing technical drawings and specifications to create detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project costing is accurate.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop Accurate Cost Estimates: Prepare thorough cost estimates for machined and fabricated components, considering material costs, labor costs, and other relevant factors.
  • Analyze Technical Drawings: Carefully analyze technical drawings and specifications to create detailed BOQs, ensuring that all necessary components are accounted for.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with design, procurement, and sales teams to ensure project costing is accurate and meets business requirements.
  • Engage in Reverse Engineering: Participate in reverse engineering activities to develop new estimation methodologies and improve existing processes.
  • Optimize Vendor Pricing: Identify opportunities to optimize vendor pricing and negotiate better deals to reduce overall project costs.
  • Maintain Cost Databases: Ensure cost databases for bought-out items are up-to-date and accurate, providing valuable insights for future projects.
  • Support RFQ/RFP Responses: Assist in preparing responses to Request for Quote/Request for Proposal (RFQ/RFP) documents, highlighting the company's capabilities and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering: Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Estimation: Possess 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing/machinery estimation, with a strong understanding of cost estimation principles.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office, with ERP familiarity preferred.
