Job Title: Cloud Security and Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management:

• Manage and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

• Configure and monitor cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises servers.

    2. Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

• Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

• Analyze system performance and application metrics to identify and address bottlenecks.

    3. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and provide operational support.

• Facilitate communication between development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment.

    4. Automation and Scripting:

• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and processes.

• Use scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation purposes.

    5. Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security best practices and policies for application and infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., PII, PCI, GDPR, HIPAA).

    6. Incident Management and Troubleshooting:

• Respond to and resolve operational issues, outages, and incidents.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.

    7. Configuration Management and Documentation/Reporting:

• Document network configurations, policies, and procedures.

• Prepare reports on network performance, incidents, and upgrades.

• Maintain an inventory of Servers, routers, firewalls, Virtual Machines, network assets and resources in CMDB

    8. Security Management:

• Implement network security protocols and ensure compliance with security policies.

• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.

• Respond to and manage security breaches or threats.

    9. Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to implement and upgrade network solutions.

• Coordinate with other departments to ensure network solutions align with business needs.

• Participate in project planning and management activities related to network infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in VMWare NSX-T.

• Proficiency in Google Cloud - Cloud functions

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, Azure and VMWare).

• Detailed knowledge of Load Balancers and WAF (e.g. F5-ASM, Cloud Armor, Global Load Balancers, F5-LTM, etc.)

• Extensive knowledge of Firewalls (e.g. Paloalto, Fortinet)

• Familiarity with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

• Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

• Experience with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).

• Knowledge of network management tools and software.

• Familiarity with network security practices and tools.

2. Analytical Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve network issues.

• Ability to analyze network performance metrics and make necessary adjustments.

3. Communication Skills/ Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentation and support.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

4. Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in security and network engineering for a hybrid environment (on-prem and cloud) for development, IT production operations, or a related role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications related to cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cybersecurity Professional,.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Familiarity with security practices and tools

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA or Similar)

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
