Data Migration Engineer

Transforming Data Landscape, One Project at a Time

We are seeking an experienced data migration specialist to lead and execute complex data migration projects from legacy systems to our cloud-based data warehouse within the Azure ecosystem.

  • Design and implement data migration strategies from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms.
  • Conduct data discovery, profiling, and mapping of source systems.
  • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Configure and optimize cloud-based warehouses, databases, and schemas.
  • Implement data validation frameworks and automated testing procedures.
  • Leverage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 for data staging and processing.
  • Establish data quality checks and validation rules throughout migration process.
  • Monitor and optimize performance for both Azure services and cloud-based platforms.
  • Create technical documentation for migration processes and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data migration and ETL/ELT development.
  • Expert-level proficiency with cloud-based architecture and best practices.
  • Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
  • Advanced SQL skills with complex query optimization experience.
  • Proficiency in Python or PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with data modeling and schema design.
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns and API development.
  • Azure certification (AZ-104, DP-203, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced) preferred.
