AWS Cloud Security Engineer Role

Design, implement and maintain cloud-based solutions using a range of AWS services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop Amazon AWS based cloud solutions utilizing various AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, AWS CLI, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, AWS Config, Kinesis, Route 53, Dynamo DB, SNS) to achieve business goals.
  • Implement identity access management controls to manage secure user and system access.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and developers to create security solutions for cloud environments by designing controls ensuring integration into cloud platforms and compliance standards.
  • Monitor cloud environments for suspicious activities and threats using tools like SIEM systems implementing governance policies and maintaining audit logs for regulatory requirements.
  • Automate cloud security processes using CloudFormation, Terraform or Ansible and implement infrastructure as code to ensure secure deployment and configuration.
  • Work closely with DevOps, network and software development teams promoting secure cloud practices training and educating employees about cloud security best practices.
  • Ensure data security by providing secret management solutions with versioning enabled and design backup solutions for applications downtime maintaining a parallel disaster recovery environment.

This role requires hands-on experience with containerization technologies Docker, Kubernetes serverless computing and excellent problem-solving skills troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer with strong focus on AWS.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies Docker, Kubernetes and serverless computing.
