Job Title: Embedded Systems Requirements Lead – Automotive Gateway & Diagnostics

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments. This role involves collaboration across hardware, controls, diagnostics, and supplier teams to ensure robust, scalable, and accurate modeling of devices used in modern automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using Simulink or equivalent tools to simulate various scenarios.
  • Architect models for seamless integration into VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments to enhance testing and validation.
  • Define and maintain interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms to facilitate data exchange.

Data Acquisition & Characterization:

  • Lead data collection efforts from physical devices to support model validation and performance characterization, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior, making necessary adjustments.

Testing & Validation:

  • Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements, prioritizing quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions to improve overall performance.

Change & Release Management:

  • Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maintain traceability and version control across model updates, preserving historical context.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements, fostering effective communication.
  • Balance short-term and long-term modeling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions to optimize resources.
  • Harmonize virtualization requirements across vehicle and propulsion domains, ensuring consistency and coherence.

Requirements Definition:

  • Define virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems to establish clear expectations.
  • Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies to accommodate diverse needs.
