About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to join our team at Shipsy. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing mobile applications using the Android framework, with a strong focus on code quality, scalability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain mobile applications using the Android framework.
  • Create reusable code assets to avoid code duplication.
  • Architecting the modules by keeping scalability in consideration.
  • Writing Unit Tests and attempting to have maximum code coverage.
  • Provide timely resolutions to support tickets by leveraging deep understanding of the codebase.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, offering insightful feedback to teammates.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the industry and have technical discussions with the team to exchange ideas.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with Kotlin is mandatory and should have a very good understanding of Kotlin Coroutine & Flows.
  • Proficiency in Android Jetpack Compose with a willingness to learn the counterpart technologies.
  • Good understanding of mobile programming fundamentals like threading, efficient local database design, caching, internationalization, themes, geolocation, firebase and other such essentials.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to create root cause analyses.
  • A Team player with exceptional cross-team communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Version Control Systems such as Git.

Nice to Have:

  • Contributions to open-source or personal projects showcasing expertise in Android Jetpack Compose, iOS SwiftUI, or KMM.
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
  • Knowledge of Clean Architecture and MVVM paradigms.
  • Experience working with Backend Developers to appropriately architect the APIs to be consumed in mobile apps or should have some experience building backend APIs.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Github actions for setting up release pipelines.
  • Experience with app deployment to Play Store or App Store platforms.

Estimated Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year
