This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for automation and monitoring. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our monitoring tools, including Sumologic, Sciencelogic, and Dynatrace. You will also be working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement detailed design, configuration, and engineering strategies to resolve issues and improve system performance.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Drive automation of repeat activities and patterns, providing solutions that integrate with our monitoring team and other teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with architects to develop an automation roadmap and implement solutions that improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Design, develop, and implement new automated solutions across hybrid cloud infrastructure and vendor systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Primary owner responsible for implementing identified opportunities and maintaining existing solutions, ensuring they remain up-to-date and aligned with our evolving needs.
  • Upgrade, maintain, and drive performance improvements of existing solutions, focusing on cost-effectiveness and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from various disciplines, including infrastructure and application teams, to ensure alignment and effective solution delivery.
  • Develop and track cost-benefit analysis, adoption, and effectiveness measures of various automated solutions, providing insights to inform future decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of customer requests for monitoring and logging.


Required Qualifications:




  • 4-7 years of experience running high-availability systems and supporting distributed infrastructure, with a strong understanding of Windows and Linux servers.
  • Strong experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Node.js, with a focus on automation and integration.
  • Strong experience with AWS, including Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SNS, SQS, and other services, as well as a working familiarity with AWS kinesis, EKS, EMR, DynamoDB, and other services.
  • Working familiarity with Azure subscription, storage accounts, event hub, Azure functions, log analytic workspace, and other Azure services.
  • Familiarity with open telemetry, telegraf, and distributed tracing, with a strong understanding of microservice architectures running on Kubernetes and containers.
  • Proven ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and a demonstrated skill in creating stakeholder presentations and communications.


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Strong experience working on an Automation, Build, Infrastructure Engineering team with a focus on cloud technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and others.
  • Strong experience with build automation, security, and performance monitoring tools like Sumologic, Dynatrace, and Sciencelogic.
  • Strong experience with Jenkins administration and/or pipeline development, with a focus on automation and integration.
  • Strong experience and knowledge with Windows and Linux servers, as well as scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience provisioning and configuring repeatable, highly available infrastructure using tools like Terraform.
  • Experience building and managing logging and monitoring infrastructure, with a strong understanding of cloud security and compliance.
  • Experience supporting compute, storage, and networking in a cloud environment such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and others.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and firewalls, especially in a cloud-hosted environment.
  • Understanding of secure cloud networking and security technologies.
