About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned mainframe software developer to join our team at FIS. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects that impact the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with onshore tech leads to ensure assigned tasks are completed efficiently and meet business requirements.
  • You will play a key role in resolving technical roadblocks involving mainframe technologies.
  • You will be responsible for building new or enhancing mainframe Cobol programs/JCLs and utilizing mainframe tools to complete tasks.
  • You will run mainframe batch jobs, monitor, and troubleshoot any issues with batch processes in collaboration with onshore project leads.
  • You will continually improve the quality of deliverables.
  • You will ensure code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • You will assist in identifying, isolating, resolving, and communicating problems within the production environment.

Requirements

  • You must have a minimum of 6+ years of experience with mainframe technologies (Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2 & mainframe utilities & tools).
  • You must have experience working collaboratively using Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodology.
  • Experience with Linux/shell scripts/regular expressions is preferred.
  • Experience working with BFSI projects is preferred.
