Senior Data Engineer Job Description

This senior data engineer role involves designing, building, and configuring large-scale data systems to meet business process requirements.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled data engineer to join our team. As a senior data engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing complex data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing scalable data pipelines using PySpark and SQL in Databricks to handle large-scale data transformations and batch/streaming workloads.
  • Implementing ETL processes by leveraging Databricks notebooks, Delta Lake, and Python-based custom scripts for data ingestion and curation.
  • Collaborating with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver accurate, performant, and reusable data solutions.
  • Maintaining and monitoring job performance, identifying bottlenecks, and applying tuning techniques to improve pipeline efficiency on the Databricks platform.
Professional Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft Azure Analytics Services.
  • A deep understanding of DataFrame APIs.
  • Expertise in Spark optimization techniques.
