Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Delivery Team at Colt Data Centre Services, acting as a project Design Manager and an SME on discipline matters.

You will report to the Regional Engineering Manager (India) of the Major Builds Delivery Team in Colt DCS.
As a Design Manager, you will play a leading role in the delivery of a multi-disciplinary design, managing external engineering consultants and contractors to meet program, design and budget for the successful delivery of the project and to achieve cost effective and resilient infrastructures in line with Colt's Global design standards.

The ideal candidate should have robust design management skills, a proven record of accomplishment in Multi-Disciplinary Project delivery and a strong background in all aspects of MEP mission critical systems, with a focus on Electrical engineering.

A thorough understanding of site planning and interdependent disciplines, such as civils, structures and architecture and project delivery processes needed to support our growing fleet of Data Centres, is strongly desired.

This person shall be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and be a self-starter that can excel with little direction.

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Design Programme to ensure on time creation and review of Employers Requirements (ER's), tender information and design documentation issued for planning and Construction.
  • Support and lead the MEP construction activities at site.
  • Provide guidance and advise to the site based construction teams and supporting local design and Colt delivery teams.
  • Steer and guide and challenge the external Design Consultants and Contractors when required taking a 'Trust but Verify' approach, to ensure they deliver a design to meet the requirements of the Design Brief.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other Colt engineering teams and operations providing support as and when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in a MEP data centre design role within mission critical facilities
  • Working design experience with Generators, UPS and Transformers, MV and LV Switch Gear, HV (desirable), Lighting, Fire systems and Security
  • Proficient knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles
  • General knowledge of CSA (Civils, Structural, Architectural) disciplines principles
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
