Job Title: Operations Manager for Tooling and Equipment

The Procurement team identifies researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.

About the Role

This role is responsible for managing tooling and equipment sourcing for business in respective factory locations along with managing injection molding space for new projects and business continuity.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Create supplier strategy inline with sourcing strategy & long-term capacity planning for injection molding & other commodities.
  • Support internal stakeholders in identifying & finalizing suppliers inline with procurement policy.
  • Have end-to-end accountability of tooling development which includes supplier finalization, commercial closure, IDP, DFM closure & tool providing at tool makers & molders for buy parts.
  • Familiar with Whirlpool NPI/EPI process for tool/Equipment & component development inline with WPD process.
  • Perform product/process analysis for cost optimization, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Accountable for 3rd party asset management systems & ensuring zero non-compliance in internal auditing.
  • Work with plant PM teams to map capacity & MOB tool requirement inline with LTCP numbers.
  • Manage approval cycle documentations as per SOA & maintain through internal workflow systems.
  • Responsible for working closely with suppliers, tool makers, internal stakeholders in identifying tooling & equipment needs and closing the same as per project timelines.
  • Should contribute ideas towards identifying best cost alternatives in tooling, manufacturing processes, materials, designs, etc.
Key Deliverables
  • End-to-end execution of assigned T&E strategy.
  • Lead and deliver new projects with committed timelines & first-time right on QCDDM.
  • Lead supplier facility & capacity for MOB.
  • Zero production downtime.
  • To achieve cost & quality targets.
Minimum Requirements

Necessary:

  • B.Tech-Mech/ Polymer Engg/+ or equivalent.
  • CIPET /NTTF /GTTC or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Necessary:
  • Min. 6 years experience in the development of plastic & sheet metal/die casting tooling & components.

Preferred:

  • M.Tech-Mech/ Polymer Engg.

Preferred Skills And Experiences:

  • Strong understanding of injection mold/stamping/die casting tool design and process.
  • Computer and computer-assisted design (CAD) proficiency.
  • Relevant material knowledge to support tool design capability analysis.
Behavioral Requirements
  • Experienced in interdisciplinary and global matrix environments.
  • Ability to amalgamate, on priority, business processes and procedures.
  • Good analytical & logical reasoning qualities.
  • Proven team player.
  • Must be able to prioritize work & deliver on targets.
