Senior Machine Learning Engineer for Speech and Language Technologies

About the RoleThis role involves working with talented peers to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state of the art in spoken language understanding. Your work will directly impact our customers through products and services that utilize speech and language technology.
We are hiring in the area of speech recognition (ASR) and related areas. The successful candidate will leverage Amazon's heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in spoken language understanding.
What You'll Do- Design and develop novel machine learning algorithms and models to improve speech recognition and natural language understanding
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate speech and language technologies into Amazon products and services
- Leverage large-scale computing resources and heterogeneous data sources to drive innovation in spoken language understanding
We are looking for someone with a strong background in machine learning, as well as experience in building speech recognition and natural language processing systems. A solid understanding of standard speech and machine learning techniques is also essential. Additionally, scientific thinking, the ability to invent, and a track record of thought leadership and contributions that have advanced the field are highly valued.
The ideal candidate will also have good written and spoken communication skills, as well as solid software development experience. Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, and Python is required.
In terms of qualifications, we are looking for candidates with a Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics, with specialization in speech recognition, natural language processing, or machine learning.
We offer a competitive salary of $170,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and bonuses.
