Job Title: Operational Finance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze business requirements to identify areas for process improvement and cost optimization.
  • Develop a deep understanding of financial workflows, including net asset value (NAV) calculation, trade capture, cash/position reconciliations, performance fees, and investor allocations.
  • Collaborate with fund accounting teams to document functional and technical requirements for system enhancements and optimize financial data integrity.
  • Process Improvements:
  • Work closely with technology teams to enhance fund accounting platforms, such as Advent Geneva, Investran, Eagle, Calypso, Charles River, or proprietary systems, to streamline processes and reduce manual errors.
  • Identify gaps in existing processes and develop solutions to improve data accuracy, automate manual tasks, and increase efficiency.
Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of hedge fund accounting concepts, including NAV, accruals, profit and loss attribution, fee structures, side pockets, and share classes.
  • Experience with fund administration systems (Geneva, Investran, Advent, or equivalent) and proficiency in Excel, SQL, and reporting tools for data analysis.
  • Business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process modeling, user acceptance testing (UAT), and documentation.
  • Understanding of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, derivatives (swaps, options, futures, FX).
  • Strong stakeholder communication and interpersonal skills.
