HDFC Bank is a leading financial institution that aims to provide innovative banking solutions to its customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer - Lead to join our team in Bangalore.

Job Purpose

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and designing vital services, platforms, and infrastructure while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance. This role will also involve leading a team of SRE engineers and promoting a Site Reliability Engineering culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build a Site Reliability Engineering culture

The candidate will be responsible for sharing best practices, approaches, documentation, and code with other engineering teams to help build a Site Reliability Engineering culture.

2. Apply automation and software

The candidate will apply automation and software to any tasks or parts of the system which are performed manually.

3. Troubleshoot complicated issues

The candidate will be able to troubleshoot complicated, cross-platform issues handling OS, Networking, Database in a cloud-based SaaS environment and handle live production incidents.

4. Monitor application performance

The candidate will monitor application performance, take steps to improve overall application performance and stability, and follow through with implementation.

5. Conduct system analysis and configuration management

The candidate will conduct system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system software performance, availability, and reliability.

Actionable Items

1. Design, write, ship, and motivate software creation

The candidate will design, write, ship, and motivate the creation of software and systems to increase observability, product reliability, and organizational efficiency.

2. Maintain and monitor deployment

The candidate will maintain and monitor deployment, orchestration, of the servers, docker containers, databases, and general backend infrastructure.

3. Develop Run Books/Standard Operating Procedure

The candidate will develop Run Books/Standard Operating Procedure for recurring Production issues, also working on a permanent solve.

4. Perform Incident Analysis

The candidate will perform Incident Analysis on a regular basis with the intention of preventing and finding a long-term solve for Incidents.

Educational Qualification

Total Yrs of experience: 8-13

Educ:

○ B Tech in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.

Skills

○ Experience in monitoring and analyzing infrastructure performance using standard performance monitoring tools

○ Demonstrable experience in Containerization-Docker and orchestration (Kubernetes)

○ Experience with Infrastructure As Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible)

○ Knowledge and proven hands-on experience in large-scale databases and distributed technologies, such as Kafka and Confluent Platform Kafka

○ Basic programming and scripting skill
