Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on coding expertise in Python and Pyspark, as well as experience with Telemetry, Big Data, and backend engineering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing an application for a large retailer, utilizing their skills in IoT systems, HVAC/refrigeration equipment, and other mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data pipelines using Python and Pyspark
  • Analyze telemetry data to inform business decisions
  • Develop and maintain large-scale data processing systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
  • Expertise in Python, Pyspark, and SQL
  • Hands-on Python/PySpark coding experience
  • Strong Big Data experience, GCP preferred
  • Telemetry experience
  • Streaming experience with analytics and data processing
  • Business analytics experience and working directly with business partners to implement feedback
  • Nice to Have Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of IoT systems, especially in: Refrigeration units, HVAC systems, Controllers and sensors
  • Familiarity with equipment and systems from Emerson, Honeywell, or similar
  • Ability to explain how data flows through IoT units and how sensors are designed and monitored
