Linux Workplace Developer

Seeking an accomplished developer to spearhead the development of a cutting-edge Linux workplace on Ubuntu. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for Linux, with extensive expertise in packaging and administering GNU/Linux and Debian-based distributions.

Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and expand the existing Linux workplace to meet evolving user and company needs.
  • Design, develop, and configure new features for Linux client instances to address business or IT security requirements.
  • Ensure the function, stability, and reliability of the Linux workplace on various hardware types and virtual machines through quality assurance and testing.
  • Provide expert-level support for Linux users, leveraging existing IT service management processes.
  • Analyze and resolve integration issues with company infrastructure.
  • Oversee maintenance of Linux workplace-specific infrastructure servers and software repositories.
Requirements:
  • Linux Passion: A deep enthusiasm for Linux as a mindset and essential tool, with a love for working on the command line.
  • Advanced Linux Packaging and Administration: Proven expertise in packaging and administering GNU/Linux and Debian-based distributions, focusing on Ubuntu.
  • Software Development and Scripting: Experience in software development and scripting with strong skills in Bash, Python, and GNU utilities.
  • Efficient Linux Software Development: Skilled in managing Linux software development processes and GIT-based CI/CD pipelines for smooth workflows.
  • Linux Configuration Management: Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Salt-Stack, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Modern Linux Environments: Familiarity with desktop virtualization and Linux container runtime environments like VMWare, Oracle VirtualBox, Hyper-V, WSL2, Docker, and Podman.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent debugging and error analysis skills under Linux.
  • IT Service Management: Proven ability to deliver high-quality IT support and services.
