Cloud IAM Engineer Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Cloud Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure identity and access management solutions across multiple cloud providers, including Azure and AWS. Your primary goal is to ensure seamless integration of existing applications with the latest cloud-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and deploying scalable identity and access management systems for complex, multi-tier applications.
  • Selecting appropriate cloud controls and services to meet client requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative and robust cloud-centric solutions.
  • Integrating, configuring, documenting, and deploying compliant infrastructure and supporting services in cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshooting problems, resolving root causes, and fixing bugs.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Azure AD and related services such as Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management, etc.
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols like SAML, OAuth, OpenID, and Kerberos.
  • Experience in providing federated identity with solutions like PING Federate or ADFS.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  • Prior experience in providing RBAC solutions for AWS and Azure.
  • Experience creating technical architecture documentation.

Desired Skills:

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the identity space with a background in Active Directory or similar LDAP stores.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory Connect synchronization software or similar technology.
  • Prior experience using compliance assurance tooling like Prisma Cloud.
  • Prior experience with products from HashiCorp like Terraform, Vault, and Consul.
  • Prior experience with risk control frameworks and engagements with risk and regulatory functions.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with CI/CD frameworks and methodologies like automated testing (unit / integration) and release pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience in the financial industry.
