About this Role

We are seeking a Senior Economist to join our Country Insights Group. This is an exciting opportunity to shape economic thought leadership on India and contribute to the growth trajectory of the country.

  • Strategic Economic Analysis: The successful candidate will deliver in-depth macroeconomic and microeconomic analyses, offering a 360° perspective on India's economy, policy developments, and economic risks in a timely manner.
  • Advanced Estimation & Forecasting: They will design and implement robust systems and models to forecast critical economic indicators, including GDP, inflation, trade balances, fiscal metrics, and sector-specific trends.
  • Sectoral & Thematic Research: As a Senior Economist, they will lead comprehensive sectoral studies covering rural consumption, production efficiencies, supply chain dynamics, credit flows, external trade, and financial market trends.
  • Thought Leadership & Policy Insights: They will develop high-quality whitepapers, policy briefs, and opinion pieces that influence stakeholders across industries, financial institutions, and government bodies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing strategic, unique, and insightful analyses that go beyond data reporting to address the 'So What?' critique, influencing client decisions, guiding policy discussions, and strengthening research intelligence offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Economic Analysis: Conduct thorough economic analysis and provide insights on India's economic trends, policy developments, and economic risks.
  • Data Analysis: Design and implement robust systems and models to forecast critical economic indicators.
  • Research: Lead comprehensive sectoral studies and develop high-quality research papers.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Economics or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis, data analysis, and research is required.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
