SQL Database Administrator Role

About the Position

We're seeking a highly skilled SQL Server DBA to join our team. As a seasoned professional, you'll play a pivotal role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, security, and scalability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leverage your expertise to lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
  • Develop and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record of upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
